whoa. 7 months!

hi! it's really late. and i should really get to bed. but i promised miss kristen that i would post something. plus, it's been a whopping 7 months! where have i been? goodness.

all i can think about right now is how i need to go to sleep. trying to form coherent sentences really isn't a good idea right now.. so i'll stick to something simple.

highlights of my day:
:: krispy kreme donuts at the monthly staff meeting
:: discovered nice, smooth, fine-point ink pens at my work supply cabinet. good pens make me happy.
:: received a very special delivery packaged in stationery by one of my favorite designers.
:: finally got some exercise playing tennis with irving.
:: watched pirates of the caribbean 2 so that i can be ready for #3!

has it been 6 months?

hi!  wow.. xanga looks all different! and a bunch of you guys changed colors on your pages!  it's been forever. i was feeling disconnected today so thought i'd get onto xanga and see what's been happening. they blocked xanga at work now, and that's where i used to read, post, comment.. probably the main reason for the silence. sometimes there's so much to say that i'm not sure where or how to begin and so i freeze and don't post anything.

this past year has seen some big changes. i moved out. stepped down from young adult ministry. started dating. so much is.. not the same.. that it makes me go back to some basic basic questions regarding identity and faith. i feel like i'm being reset and reshuffled. it's good.. but weird and a bit unsettling for someone who prefers routine and familiarity.

that's all for now :) mebbe more later..

what's the plan?

this is my planner. i got it a little over a year ago at kinokuniya, a japanese bookstore nearby. i like it because it's compact, and has a nice clear canary cover. oh, and it opens flat. very important. the page layout for each week is also perfect: a good amount of space for each of the 7 days of the week on the left, and a lined page for notes on the right, which is great for lists and other scribbles. i often leave my planner out and open on my desk during the work day, and will often take it out while waiting for something. cross something out. look over my week. jot something down.

i stopped by kinokuniya after work today to buy the refill pages for 2006. it's march, yes. but they have pages all the way to the end of march, so i was in no hurry to get the refill. but they RAN OUT! i was so sad. maybe i'm being punished for becoming so snobbishly attached to a cute japanese planner. seriously, this is the perfect planner. i may have to resort to some boring fake-leather office max planner that's too large, or some cheesy hot pink and orange teenage-girl planner from target. sigh.

finally, a post.

look, i'm breaking my long silence! i had hoped to post a picture or two, but since that's not happening anytime soon, i figured i'd just post so that those of you who check my blog every once in awhile (or have you given up?) will have something else to look at besides those asia pictures. sorry guys! i know there are some who claim to know why i've stopped blogging, but i don't see the correlation at all!

so there. i've done it! hopefully there'll be some pictures next time.. whenever that is...
